You should see a folder labeled Powerpoints.

Your Grade:  4 lecture exams = 300- 350 points, 11 ten point quizzes = 110 points, 1 paper = 20 points, last lab a ten point worksheet, miscellaneous graphs from lab = a total of  440-500 points. Extra credit worth approximately 15 points is offered in lab, plus some bonus questions on the exams. As in most science courses; 90% and above = A, 80 – 89% = B, 70 – 79% = C, 60 – 69% = D, below 60% = F. Cr = C or above, NC = D or F.

Read the University catalog for rules applying to withdrawal from the course. Those rules will be followed by this instructor, no exceptions. If you are ill, or have a family emergency that causes you to miss a quiz or exam, you must notify the instructor within 24 hours, either by e-mail, phone, or in person.  I may ask you for proof before I allow you to take a makeup exam or quiz. The Scientific Method paper is due in lab whether you attend class that day or not. You will lose 10 % off for each day late after that. I usually hand back the exams the next class period. Be there!

Announcements or changes to the schedule may be made in lecture or lab. It is your responsibility to be in class and to know what is going on. Check the web page frequently to see if any changes are posted. I may decide to give quizzes in lecture to see how well you understand the material. Although I do not take attendance in lecture, if you miss class, your grade will suffer. Also, there is no way to make up a missed laboratory. The material is put up on Monday morning and taken down Wed afternoon. You must attend lab every week in order to do well in this course.

A reminder: it is rude to get up and walk out of class during lecture. Your phone calls and other business can wait until break, or after class. In order to get through all the material, we have to start ON TIME and continue through to the end of the period, which is 12:42.
