"The Punisher"
Tahoe Rim Trail: Kingsbury Grade down Mr. Toads Wild Ride
Lake Tahoe CA/NV, September 30, 2006

The Punisher, above Lake Tahoe, is "only" 25 miles but it starts at 7,500 feet and you twice climb to at least 9,500 ft. in the first 16 miles. It has several tough hike-a-bikes and then it culminates with the quite technical Mr. Toads Wild Ride downhill. Today (9/30) was my fifth Punisher ride this summer and it was by far the best. Tahoetic accompanied me and we moved quite quickly, making a lot more uphill and downhill stuff than on previous rides. Despite the late date, the weather was great, just between short and long sleeve temperatures, and the trails were in great shape. Tahoetic demonstrated some amazing downhill skills, riding down the four gnarly sections at the top of Toads, as well as some stuff I've seen few people ride.
